In this very *SPECIAL* hairstyling tutorial, Russel Thompson from the Carmichael Salon in San Francisco goes over some very important business building tips for developing and maintaining client relationships.
Have you wondered whether or not the economic recession is affecting hair stylists and hairstyling salons? How are hair stylists going to make money in these trying times?
Its a great question and one that deserves a well educated answer. Let me explain..
First and foremost, do not position your service as a something that has a set price. Hairstyling is not a commodity, do not reveal the exact price until an initial consultation.
Tip: Build a relationship with that client first, its what the client desperately needs! They want to feel like there is a relationship that is void on the internet, which is probably where the client found your salon in the first place.
Create a system that applies to every new client. Apply to system to not only every potential client that walks in, but also make sure that all team members in the salon are trained properly in this system.
Tip: Insufficient cleanliness is the #1 reason potential customers leave salons!
Tip: Rude front desk service is the #2 reason potential hair stylist clients leave
Introduce each client to all the stylists and give them a tour of the salon.
Tip: Have receiptionist greet all guests by name (after they get to know them of course ![]()
Tip: Introduce clients to the products yuo carry.
This is only HALF of the special business building and hairstyling tutorial.
