We can’t pass up an opportunity to write about one of our favorite hairstyle chameleons – Victoria Beckham – especially when she’s channeling a super-icon, Audrey Hepburn.

As Victoria Beckham’s hair has gotten shorter and shorter, she’s started resembling Audrey  more and more, until we recently saw this:

If that’s not an Audrey shot, I don’t know what is! The cropped hair, the black dress, the big glasses, the quilted bag – she’s got it all down. We’re honestly surprised to say that Posh resembles the great actress of days gone by, as – we can’t forget – Vicky did get her start as a Spice Girl! But look at how far that girl has come. From a shorn cut – likely with celeb-worthy yoko scissors!- to a perfect ensemble, she’s every inch the glam girl!

To the list of weird hair  crimes add this one:

Thieves apparently took a box from a salon in the US that was intended for charity.

According to the ShieldsGazette in South Shields, England, burglars smashed their way into Aries Hair Salon through a door panel before escaping with cash that was supposed to go to St. Clare’s Hospice.

The collection box had been left on a counter when it was taken overnight last month. The owner of the salon was out of town at the time, and was informed of it over the phone when the landlord of a nearby pub called to inform her.

The woman, who has owned the shop for 23 years says this is the first time she has ever experienced any trouble.

“I’m devastated they’ve taken the box for St Clare’s Hospice. There was a CD player in the shop but they didn’t even touch that or anything else,” no doubt including high end shears like yoko scissors, razors and the like.

It is unknown how much cash was in the box, however, it’s believed to have been half-full when it was snatched.

A woman is suing cosmetics company L’Oreal after apparently mis-dying her hair. The mishap seems to be the fault of the woman – who grabbed the wrong tube of hair color – and dyed her “naturally blond” hair a dark brown.

Perhaps because of this, the judge dismissed the case, ruling that the woman had presented no evidence supporting her claim of negligence against the hair care company.

According to the lawsuit in 2003 the woman purchased a tube of L’Oreal permanent hair color from a local supermarket to touch up her naturally blond hair.

A friend was applying the hair color when Feeney realized that her hair was turning a dark brown, instead of the blonde she was hoping for. The lawsuit goes on to say, she tried to return her hair to its natural color but it remains brown, which she thinks is not a great asset.

She was suing, she says, because she was “mentally and physically in shock,” the woman states in court documents. “I was sick to my stomach, I had headaches, I don’t like myself, I stay home more than ever in my life, I wear hats most of the time.” Considering this was several years ago, it’s still unclear why she just couldn’t go back to blond. If nothing else she could utilize a high-end stylist who would have access to re-dying materials, yoko scissor for a nice hair cut, and the ability to finish with a great hair style.

L’Oreal, in court papers filed in the case, disputed Feeney’s claim that the wrong color was in the box of hair dye she had purchased. The firm also contended if she did pick out brown dye instead of blonde she should have realized her mistake if she had followed the directions on the package to first do a strand test.

John Simpson of Lewis Salon traded his yoko scissors for a coloring brush instead. He created this look, as one of several in a colo collection that he said allowed him to re–igninte his creativity. Simpson recently won the Best Haircolor award from the Professional Beauty Association during the 19th annual North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) – the color at left is from his award-winning collection, in which he wove different “stories” of texture and color.

Simpson, a stylist from Pittsburgh, PA, will be one of the people presenting a variety of techniques, cuts colors and more on TheCuttingEdgeHairShow.com
He used brilliant blondes, matte browns and many more techniques to create “something that not only inspires others” but also re-inspired him to get creative with his work. His collection features several photographs of different cuts, color, and style combinations. He showed that often, amazing looks can be created without specific use of shears – hair can be colored and styled expertly!
In the journey from the idea, through the creation of the line, and finally to the award, he said his biggest challenge was to make sure he actually followed through and “did it!”
